was wondering how you guys made something like the banner here stand out or bevel out like it does, I mean like how it seems to layer up from a big base to a smaller base then the orb, also the two vent looking metal pieces on each side.
Think someone can make a tut about that?

That is made by just creating the new shapes on different layers and adding them on top of each other

Its all lighting as well as what Jye said, its impossible to teach that.

I think the metal tuts really teach you how to do that. The bevel/emboss layer style can be nice, but as xcess said, lots of good lighting is what generally works best.

I use a mix of bevel and light effects. Though I don't like hard bevels. I soften by 16 if using them with a lighting effect.
