Earth's near-miss from an asteroid!

The asteroid - about the size of a 10-storey building - flew past the Earth at roughly twice the distance of the highest Earth-orbiting satellites, according to website space.com.

It is similar in size to a rock that exploded above Siberia in 1908, flattening 80 million trees across an 800 square mile area.

The impact had the force of a thousand atomic bombs, astronomers say.

Meh.. we already have one.. if you didn't know, we have magnetic deflector. These "near-misses" always happen though, they get deflected by our deflectors in the space, so it's less likely to happen a strike. >p

Lmao i remember seeing a program on discovery back in 2000 on jan 3rd. it shwed an asteroid heading towards earth, and they said they would nuke the mother lolz

Yes there was something larger, if i remember correctly twice the size of earth, was heading towards us. They estimated it was going to hit by 2010 or 2012, and they were going to send a nuclear weapon to try and split it down the middle sending both halves around us.

I remember when I was in hospital there was supposed to be the End of The world. XD I was like " " and the nurse started crying about how she'll die. I was like " I'm not even going to bother."

I remember when there was a supposed "end of the world" on the year 2000 (y2k). I was playing age of empires on my computer at the time.

Knowing a bit about computers back then, I knew it was nonsense, but my friend and I played a prank, flipping the breaker switch at midnight, turning everything in the house off.
